Production/Workshop Manager
Reporting To:
The Director
Job Summary:
The Production/Workshop Manager will be responsible for planning and co-ordinating all workshop activities, ensuring optimum use of personnel and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:

You will manage, discipline, motivate and support the staff daily and work on implementing an effective training programme

You will organise the workflow according to workload, ensuring agreed completion dates are met.

You will make sure all machinery and tooling is kept in good working order
-
You will be responsible for all stock, both stone and consumables and put an efficient method of stock control in place
Key Skills and Experience:

Excellent track record of managing personnel, preferably within a production environment

Strong leadership, delegation and motivational skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Knowledge of CAD/CAM
-
Good general computer skills along with basic knowledge of word and excel

Salary:
You can expect to earn in the region of £30,000 per annum with a potential OTE of £45,000

Vacancy 2 - Granite Worktop Fitter
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced granite worktop fitter. We are recruiting for an extremely conscientious and enthusiastic person to join our rapidly expanding Bicester based company.
Reporting to the Workshop Manager, your role will involve working, unsupervised in our customer's homes, producing templates, advising on aesthetics and fitting the finished stone worktops.
Experience within the stone industry is essential.
You must have experience of working with natural stone products
Capable of heavy lifting on a daily basis
You must have experience of working with various hand power tools.
You will pay strong attention to detail and drive towards 100% customer satisfaction.
You must be able to work with measurements to fine tolerances.
The successful candidate will be punctual, a self starter, strong communicator and have experience of delivering top quality results within a team.
Proven ability to work under pressure, problem solve and achieve quality is essential.
A valid, UK driving license is mandatory for this position
The Granite House has been successfully growing each year since we opened.

Salary is dependent on experience but you can expect it to be between £20,000 and £26,000 per annum.
Vacancy 3 - Stone Workshop Apprentice
The apprentice vacany consists of a series of daily tasks, along with gradual training. It is based in Bicester, the applicant must be able to travel to and from work reliably.
The daily tasks include maintenance of tools, tidying the yard and helping the stonemasons move large pieces of stone.
A suitable applicant must be physically strong, there is a lot of heavy lifting. Good time keeping is absolutely essential.
The applicant will first learn about how the yard works and will help on installations. Over time they will slowly learn how to operate stone machinery, how to use hand tools and how to template. There is no fasttracking to becoming a skilled craftsmen, applicants should be aware of this from the start!
The applicant must appreciate that in a workshop environment, the apprentices may be called upon frequently by the various skilled craftsmen to carry out a variety of tasks.
Hours - 8am - 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Salary - Negotiable.
