How to prepare for your template visit
Brand New Kitchen Installations
In order to ensure that we can complete an accurate template from which to fabricate your new worktops, the following needs to be in place:
- All base cabinets have to be fixed and perfectly level. All end panels should be in place. The units must not move once the template is complete. Even a millimetre of movement can jeopardise the quality of the final fit.
- All sinks must be onsite and available to the team. Some undermount sinks may require your cabinet maker to form a 'cradle' inside the cabinet carcass. On occasion we may take the sinks back to the workshop.
- All hobs must be onsite and available to the team. In the case of flush fitting hobs we will need to take them back to the workshop.
- All Agas', ranges and free standing cookers must be in their final place.
- Any plastering that is needed must be done either before we template or after we complete the installation, not in between the two or the fit of the stone will be affected.
- All existing worktops must be removed before we get onsite. The Granite House does not offer this service so you will need to engage a 3rd party company to do this; we can recommend some if necessary.
- All base cabinets will need to be re fixed and levelled.
- The majority of laminate, wood and corian worktops are approximately 38mm thick, the standard thickness for stone is 30mm. This difference is only a consideration if you have tiles on the wall that you are planning to keep, if that is the case we will discuss ways of overcoming the 8mm deficit with you.
